Proposal Manager
Job Location : Vienna, VA
MindPetal is seeking a proven Proposal Manager who will be responsible for leading, planning, scheduling, and overseeing the timely development and delivery of high-quality responses to federal business opportunities, from pre-RFP to post-submission activities, in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a thought leader who fosters a positive team environment, can work closely with and report to the Executive Leadership, and quickly adjust to dynamic proposal development schedules and requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners, consultants, and supporting vendors.
- Work with the Capture Manager to determine author assignments and integrate win strategy, themes, and discriminators into proposal.
- Lead and analyze RFI, RFQ, RFPs and other bid documents for Client Submission.
- Develop the proposal schedule, proposal outline, and compliance matrix.
- Prepare and lead kickoff meetings and daily status calls.
- Establish and maintain a SharePoint site for each proposal.
- Provide advice, leadership, and guidance to authors on all proposal content.
- Take ownership of the quality of the proposal for color reviews and final delivery by performing rigorous quality assurance checks on draft and final documents.
- Conduct activities required to successfully perform color reviews, debrief authors, and perform color review recovery.
- Ensure the high-quality content and appearance of final proposal deliverables.
- Coordinate and support the production, reproduction, binding, and packaging in finalizing the proposal submission and response processes, if applicable.
- Ensure timely delivery of proposals that are fully compliant with solicitation instructions.
- Conduct and document lessons learned and implement actions to improve process efficiency.
- Manage the development of oral presentations, discussions, and proposal revisions.
- Support the VP of Corporate Development in creating and delivering training for Business Development and other staff to continuously improve our corporate proposal operations.
- Organize, Maintain, and Own a library of reusable assets to include White Papers, Points of View, graphics, past performance, and resumes, amongst other deliverables.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of five years proven experience managing proposal teams and leading them efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on moderate- to high-complexity federal opportunities.
- A proven track record of managing and winning proposals within the federal IT services market in excess of $10M.
- Ability to conduct research and synthesize information from multiple sources (subject matter experts, previous proposals) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to adapt to various people and working styles under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work beyond regular schedule hours if needed.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Possess excellent leadership, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong editing skills; excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation.

Mid-level Appian Developer
Job Location : Vienna, VA
MindPetal seeks a Mid-level Appian Developer responsible for software integration, customization, and support of existing and new systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare software requirements specifications and prototypes for translation into structured application programs.
- Leads the configuration of solution applications, process models, business rules, user interfaces, and management reports
- Leads the enhancements of existing applications including, but not limited to forms, reports, underlying logic and interface components on development projects as assigned.
- Translate the functional requirement to the Appian business flows with the help of Process Models, Rules, CDTs , Web Service Integration
- Executes unit, system, and integration testing
- Supports the customer through user testing and business readiness activities
- Supports user story development
- Support the development of technical maintenance and support manuals.
- Analyze, debug and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
- Hands on and or assist database administrators (Oracle, SQL server), quality assurance team, system engineers, network engineers and other staff in ways to ensure data integrity, consistency, security and privacy.
- Assist project manager in estimating durations for tasks, deliverables and activities.
- Adhere to organizational policies, standards and best practices in application development, documentation, and maintenance that support the agile process.
- Provide technical expertise and actively participate in creating systems development, software, hardware, and application development standards, procedures and policies.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requires 3-4 years of experience working with Appian
- Experience coding in Java is required.
- Experience with working in Agile teams.
- Provide support in developing the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website.
- Provide support for the implementation of interfaces to applications.
- Knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable: .Net, JavaScript, Angular, React.
- Requires Appian development Certification. Prefer Level 2/3 Credential Appian Certification.
Administrative Assistant
Job Location : Vienna, VA
MindPetal seeks an Administrative Assistant for our Tysons, VA office. Please note that this position is on site, remote work is not permitted. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handle office administration and logistics for a staff of 100+ people (and growing!)
- In coordination with building management, responsible for facility maintenance, access, and security.
- Receive incoming calls and mail, ensuring they are responded to or routed appropriately; greet office visitors.
- Maintain kitchen and office supplies
- Order and Maintain office supplies
- Coordinate contractors for any fixes or repairs needed to the office
- Handle incoming and outgoing packages and mail
- Collaborate with MindPetal Managers to help with various departmental needs
- Provide as-needed support (scheduling, planning, etc.) to directors, managers, and executives
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks and special projects with minimal supervision
